Dear Parents/Guardians/Friends,

Welcome to Our Lady of Providence Regional School website.

Our school came into existence in September 1992, as a result of the merging of St. Anne School, Brentwood, and St. John of God School, Central Islip.  We are financially supported by the parishes of St. Anne, St. Luke, St. John of God and St. Peter the Apostle.  We also receive a subsidy from the diocese of Rockville Centre.

Our talented and dedicated faculty members are certified and provide our students with challenging and supportive learning experiences.  We have an onsite Resource Room and Remedial Reading teachers from the Central Islip school district.  Speech services are also provided.  Special subject areas include:  Phys. Ed., Spanish, French, Guidance, Library, Art, Music, and Computer.

Our biggest gift, and the one we are most proud of, is our diversity.  We have students whose families come from many different countries.  It gives us great delight to celebrate the different gifts each of us brings to this school.  We are truly “diverse in body, one in spirit!”

The main reason for our existence, however, is the fact that we are a Catholic School.  As stated in our philosophy, “...we believe that children are unique human beings who are always in God’s presence.  We encourage an attitude of self-confidence in our students, and a sense of true Catholic behavior which incorporates a spirit of deep concern and love for one another.”

Our Lady of Providence is a happy community of people working together to make ourselves better people, our communities supportive to all groups, and the world a better place in which to live.
